UII Kimpulan cite this as a Tourist Site



Site Kimpulan on the campus of the Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta integrated will be developed into a tourist attraction and historical education, says Director General of History and Antiquities Ministry of Culture and Tourism Day Untoro Drajad.

"These findings are important to the community site so that should be openly and widely accessible without sacrificing the security of objects of cultural heritage," he said in Yogyakarta, on Monday (08/02/2010).

The remark was made days after the signing of cooperation agreements between the script with the Foundation Board Endowment Kembudpar Indonesian Islamic University (UII) in the conservation and management of Kimpulan Site.

According to him, it is important to keep the site preserved and used for purposes that lead to the development of culture and parisiwata especially in education and history.

"After the discovery of the site has done several steps, including excavation, area delimitation, budgeting, reimbursement, and arrangement of the region. Arrangement planned to be completed later this year," he said.

He said, Kimpulan Site is a site that was found on December 11, 2009 on an integrated campus that has been excavated UII Hall Preservation of Archaeological Heritage (BP3) in Yogyakarta.

"The site and type of ancient relics in it is state property managed by the Directorate General (DG) History and Antiquities Kembudpar. Conservation and Management of the site to enhance the appreciation and learning for the community," he said.

Chairman of the Governing Body Foundation Endowments UII Hasan Lutfi said the site within an area of 1385 square meters will be constructed library building UII with due respect to the existence of such sites.

"In the library building will be constructed to complement the museum's existence Kimpulan Site as objects of cultural preservation efforts," said former Rector of the UII.
