Hindu temples are fairly well maintained. The temple is located in the village of Pos, sub sengi, Shaman district, Magelang regency, Central Java province (approximately 10 km northeast of the temple Ngawen). Nearby there are also two other Hindu temples, the temples and temple Pendem Granary (Magelang). The name of the temple is the new name given by the surrounding community. Candi Asu called because near the temple there is a cow statue Nandi, vehicle of Lord Shiva is estimated the population as a statue asu 'dog'. The three temples are situated on the edge of the River Pabelan, dilereng west of Mount Merapi, in the meeting (battle) Pabelan River and River Tlingsing. The three faces west. Candi Asu square with the size of 7.94 meters. 2.5 meters high temple feet, 3.35 meters tall temple. Height of the roof of the temple is not known because it has collapsed and most of the stones missing. Seeing the three temples can be estimated that the temples that includes a small building. Near the Temple Asu have found two stone inscriptions shaped pillar (phallus), the inscription of Sri Mangala I (874 AD) and Sri Mangala II (874 AD).
To go Candi Asu sengi, I give this guide:
- If from Yogyakarta, just follow the Way Jogja-Magelang until reaching the city Muntilan.
- In the town of Muntilan, we will follow a one-way highway, near the market that you know. Well, right up to the Tugu Bambu Runcing Muntilan, where there we can return direction, then turn directions there.
- Follow the road, but do not be too far to Jogja. If you follow this path we will reach the intersection that there are red lights. At this crossroad turn to the left.
- Already, follow the asphalt road along the 6 km until arriving in the district. Shaman. Later we will meet with the Y junction, the existing signage sengi his Temple Complex. Follow this direction and we will pass the bridge (before any corner of death!).
- A few hundred yards after cross the bridge, there will be T-junction where there are shops nearby. Turn left at the fork in it, into the gravel dirt road, and noticed the right side of the road well among the green rice fields and other field crops.
